Smiling is a magical function of facial muscles. A smile has the magic of charm, trust, testifying to the sociability and sincerity of its owner's intentions. A beautiful, open smile disposes a person to the desire to make contact, creates an aura of acceptance and sympathy for the interlocutor. What is this magic? Healthy, clean, even teeth, pink neat gums, the absence of bad breath, symmetry and harmony of soft tissues - all this together symbolizes the confidence and health of the owner of a beautiful smile.

What to do in order to greet the interlocutor, to be sure of a pleasant impression?

A visit to the dentist for people who found Soviet dental offices is a morally and physically painful issue. The accumulated fear of generations before the phrase “dentistry” is insurmountable even in the era of modern medical advances, regardless of the degree of awareness provided by the Internet, the assurances of the attending physician, innovative approaches to treatment and the most effective pain relief. Everything associated with the upcoming visit to the dentist causes subconscious fear and enviable ingenuity in inventing reasons for not appearing to a specialist to solve accumulated problems in the oral cavity.

Meanwhile, the initial visit to the dentist, as a rule, allows you to get an assessment of the general condition of the oral cavity and the degree of damage to soft and hard tissues. Further, the specialist may suggest the following:

  • professional cleaning of teeth and possible local and general treatment of soft tissues surrounding the tooth;
  • necessary manual and instrumental examinations;
  • determination of a plan for restoring dental health and a schedule of meetings;
  • correction of means and methods of hygiene, teaching proper brushing of teeth according to the individual characteristics of the oral cavity;
  • clarification of existing problems;
  • identification and clarification of those teeth that cannot be saved or the restoration of which will be short-lived and impractical.

At the first stage of treatment, restoration of the destroyed hard tissues of the teeth is carried out. Then (if necessary) the patient is relieved of pain while taking cold, hot and sour foods. After that, bad breath is eliminated, and the ability to chew solid food is restored, without fear of sharp edges and cavities in the teeth. This initial stage is not as noticeable as the subsequent ones, which involve orthodontic or prosthetic treatment.

What is the essence of the problem?

Very often problems associated with dental health and oral hygiene are due to incorrect position of the teeth, deformed dental arches or incorrect closure of the jaws. Because of this, there is an uneven load on certain parts of the dentition, the accumulation of plaque and food particles in hard-to-reach areas for the patient and even for the doctor. To eliminate these problems, there is the possibility of alignment and correction of congenital or acquired dentoalveolar anomalies, that is, orthodontic treatment, which can be carried out using removable or non-removable devices or combined with surgery. After that, prosthetic treatment may be needed - restoration of dentitions that have various kinds of defects, and fixation of dentures.

What is the final result if, nevertheless, the decision on dental treatment is made and the transformation of the dentoalveolar apparatus is fully completed? Leaving the dentist's office prettier, healthier, the winged patient feels pride and joy from his own reflection in the mirror, from the feeling of cleanliness and comfort in the mouth, from confidence in the painlessness of eating any food.
