The American Dental Association recommends that children start using fluoride toothpaste as early as possible.

The American Dental Association believes that children need to start using fluoride toothpaste even earlier than is currently the case.

If earlier children were given fluoride only after 6 years, now there is information that this is permissible at an earlier age. The American Dental Association recommends that you start using fluoride toothpaste as soon as your child has their first tooth.

If you use fluoride toothpaste from early childhood, the risk of developing caries and tooth decay is reduced. About a quarter of all children already have problem teeth by kindergarten. Researchers believe that using fluoride toothpastes at an early age will help reduce this amount.

This study was first published in the Journal of the American Dental Association. It was it that determined the timing when the child began to use fluoride.

The study also found that a pea-sized amount of toothpaste was enough to increase the risk of developing fluorosis. Children under three years of age are advised to use less toothpaste. Dentists advise parents to supervise the brushing process, as some toddlers spit out or swallow toothpaste.

The question of at what age to start using fluoride toothpaste still needs to be studied more carefully so that scientists can determine the exact age. In addition, there are quite conflicting opinions regarding fluoride-containing pastes, and this article most likely will not change the opinions of negatively minded individuals.
